TPS562209 - About RC delay circuit of EN

Hi Team,

 

Our customer would like to control the startup timing.

1. Vin reaches 12V in 8ms.

2. Then, Vout stands up

 

They can't use MCU so they have to connect EN to VIN.

Therefore, they are studying RC delay circuit of EN.

Is there the limit level of the capacitor and resistance?

Currently, we are going to use "100ohm & 330uF".

    Why not use TPS562219? It has external adjustable slow start. You may be able to use an RC circuit for delay. I don't see any reason why not. It has not been tested or characterized for that usage, so I cannot tell you if there is any limit to the amount of capacitance. I cannot think of any reason that there should be.

    Thank you for the information!

    Unfortunately, the cost of TPS562219 is higher than TPS562209.

    Therefore, our customer would like to use TPS562209 with RC circuit of EN.

     

    I tried simulation.

    I understand that this circuit does not have the problem.

    Could you please let us know if you have any concern?

    I cannot think of any reason why there would be an issue adding the capacitor. But you are the first I think to try it.
