BQ24266 not charging fully

Hello,

Battery charging seems stuck at 3v.

IN = 5.1v

SYS = 3.6v

DRV = 4.8v

BAT = 3v

TS = 4.8v

ISET = 390ohm

USB3,2,1 = 3.3v,3.3v,0

CE = 0v

CHG = LOW (LED lit)

PG = OPEN (LED not lit)

VPDM resistors 26.7k/10k

BGATE = not used

current measured at IN = 50ma

Any ideas where to look next?

Shane,

Your PG should be low(LED lit). Can you confirm if you get enough voltage at IN pin, rather than at the output of adapter? It has to be above Vbat + Vsleep.

PIN18 and PIN19 both 5.1v

having another chip placed now in case it is damaged.

have tried 3 chips and 2 pcb's with same result. with BAT at 3v not sure how DRV pin can be 4.8v and PG pin open at same time.

Hi,

Can you make sure you have correct setup on USB3,2,1 = 3.3v,3.3v,0? If you had USB3,2,1 = 0,3.3v,3.3v, device would be in boost mode. You will then see voltage at DRV.

Not sure I understand "You will then see voltage at DRV" . I am seeing 4.8v at DRV. I have tried several USB3,2,1 combinations but still no charging past 3v. Thanks

I meant, with battery only, there should be no output at DRV unless device is put in Boost mode.

Are you able to capture waveform of SW, IN, BAT and SYS? Thanks.
