UCC28722, TIDU 850A Reference Design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28722

Hi,

I´m an german student and I want to use "Simple and Robust Bias Power Supply With Low Standby
for Home Appliances" Reference Design for the UCC28722 as an auxillary power supply.

www.ti.com/.../tidu850a.pdf

Looking at the circuit i found a problem with the current flowing out of the VS Pin. In the reference Design Resistor R5 is chosen with 100k. At 400V input voltage this leads to nearly 4mA of current flowing out of the Vs Pin. The absoulute maximum rating given in the Datasheet ist only 1.2mA. Is this safe to use or do I have to change this and how?

Greetings

Nils
