Charge current too low with BQ2416x

hi all,

I'm using a BQ24160 to charge a single-cell Li-Ion battery. I configured the BQ24160 via the PC-Tool to a Battery-Regulation-Voltag of 4.20V.

With an partly discharged cell (cell voltage is around 3,634V) I observe a charge current of approx 204mA.

Why is the charge current that low? I configured a charge current of 2050mA and disabled the charge termination and the TS function. I use a 6,5V/3A power supply at the IN-Input of the EVM.

The board seems to cut my statement about the external battery charger. Originally, I wrote "When charging with a standalone battery charger (link) I was able to charge with 900mA"

What is the voltage measured as close to BAT pin as possible? If the leads and connectors are adding too much resistance between the BAT pin and the battery, then the charger will enter CV mode prematurely. Alternatively, is your input supply capable of supplying that much current to the battery and the load on SYS? Has the voltage at IN pin dropped close to the 4.20V VINDPM threshold?

Hi Jeff, thank You for your fast reply. The Problem was caused by my amperemeter. With an other ammeter (10amp range) the bq charged with the correct current
