What is the minimum allowable pullup resistor for Pin#5 RESET (open drain o/p) of TPS72515dcq? or What is the maximum current through Pin#5 RESET (open drain o/p) of TPS72515dcq? thx

Hello Asif,
This RESET/ current is apparently not specified as such. Instead, the data sheet shows that for as much as 700uA the RESET/ is only guaranteed to pull-down to 0.4V (page 4). I infer from this that if the pullup resistor allows any more current than 700uA then the part may not pull-down the RESET/ enough for it to be recognised as a reset event.
The actual max current would depend on the voltage drop and power loss to cause maybe to semiconductor junction to heat up to the point where the thermal resistance of the part can no longer dissipate the heat which then causes failure. The part has not been characterized for this.

Bill
Hello Bill,
Thanks. This is very helpful.
We recently had big failures related to this part and this could be a possible cause since we have 1.56K pullup resistor value.
