Power for

Hi,
I am new to this community. Kindly help me with my requirement. Was asked to refer here for a possible solution from ti support.
I am developing a RS 485 repeater based on TI solution. Looking for a power solution from TI E2E community for this design. Details are as given below:

For the design ("TI Designs : Verified Design Dual Isolated Half - Duplex RS - 485 Repeater " )what is the power consumption? Does TI have any power calculation done for the same in terms of recommended voltage i/p and current consumed? Reply from TI/Community: ------------------------------------------------------ Some general clarifications about the design......

For the powering this pcb we need suggestion:
Since the deployment of the Rs485 repeater is at odd places where we
cannot expect any AC power source, can we go for the PoE solution?

Kindly let me know technical feasibility of utilising PoE solution for
this design.
If some specific parts(ICs , supporting parts etc.,) are already available
suitable for this application , then do let me know the same by giving us
all the technical details for implementing the PoE solution for powering
this HW ( ie,design based on
" TI Doc code tidu590 titled "TI Designs : Verified Design Dual Isolated
Half - Duplex RS - 485 Repeater " ).

Also Please note that we need to add some protection parts like GDT/MOV and TBU's after the TVS diodes. There is a reference design from Bourns for RS485 protection and we are using that . For this we need to terminate the GDT to the chassis ground(ie, protective earth lead ) so that the heavy surges are taken to protective earth from the PCB.
Considering these requirements kindly do suggest us a feasible and compact power solution.

If some other alternate way of powering is possible do suggest that also to us.
Expecting a positive solution Thanks B L ThulashiRamu tulsiramu@bel.co.in
