TPS63060 / Reduced output capacitance

Hi,

I know you recommend the 66uF output capacitor in datasheet, but my customer hope to reduce it. I think they can do it because they'll use 1.5uH inductor and the maximum load current will be up to 80mA. Can you please let me know how they can reduce output capacitance with following condition?

  • Input voltage : 5.5V to 10V
  • Output voltage : 5.7V
  • Maximum output current : 80mA
  • Inductor : 1.5uH

  • Hi ,

As the output current is low, the device mainly operates in PFM mode and I see from your operating voltage conditions that your are most of the time in buck. So I think using a 44uF output cap (value from the datasheet) will not affect the stability of your circuit.

    What is the application behind?
  • Hi Sabrina,

Thank you for your comment. I can't disclose the application information at E2E but this is portable application.

    Best Regards,
