[TPS23861] Suitable extrenal MOSFET

Hello~

Accroding to TPS23861EVM-612 schematic, it is using to the FDMC3612 of Fairchild as external MOSFETs.

But, I want to use TI's NexFET instead of Fairchild parts.

Do you recommand the suitable one??

    Hi CW,

    In our datasheet Section 8.3.4.2, we list some important parameters to be considered for the MOSFET. As long as the FET meets the requirements, it should be fine. I think you can find a good one from TI's FETs.

    Hi Penny~

    I have one more question for MOSFET.

    Accroding to TPS23861 datasheet section 8.3.4.2, "RDS(on) (VGS = 10 V) should be between 50 mΩ and 150 mΩ for power dissipation considerations".

    But all of TI N-ch NexFET, which are satisfied with BVDSS = 100V, have low RDS(on) as under 20mOhms.

    In this case, we will be unable to use NexFET.  Am I correct??

    Hi C.W,

    The Rds_on is for power dissipation considerations. Usually the smaller Rds_on, the lower conduction loss. There should be no problem to TI FETs with 20mΩ Rd_on as long as they meet other PSE FET requirements listed in the datasheet.
