Hello,

This is Jagdish, We received a notification about TPS2551DBVT that this is available till dec 2016 only. I would like know an exact alternate replacement for this Part. Our production design uses this part.

Also we are using Rlim resistor 38.3K to get a Ioc and Isc values 705mA and 650mA respectively from IC.

I would like to know what would be the proposed resistor value for the proposed alternate part.

According to the note on TI product page for TPS2551, TPS2553 is the alternative part. Please see what is on the web page.

Thanks Eric for reply, Would like to know abt resistor which is being used for Rlimit. Does this resistor needs to be changed accordingly or not. I am asking this because datasheet recommendation for this resistor is as based on below condition..40kΩ < Rilm < 42KΩ . I used 38.3KΩ , so does it violate spec sheet.

In the recommended operating conditions table for both the Rilim bottom range is ~15kohm so for both 38.3kohm falls into the recommended range. Where did you see a recommended range of 40-42k?

To compare the Ios settings using 38.3kohm, please use the EQ's on page 17 (TPS2551) and page 14 for TPS2553. The end result should be very similar for Ios.
