LM5175 with external driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5175

Hi,

I'm developing a CC/CV supercap charger with 80V max input and output voltage. I used the LM5175 for the low voltage version (36Vin to 12 Vout) and it worked flawlessly, so I'd like to use it for the high voltage option as well. But the maximum input voltage of the LM5175 is 42V and the output limit is 52V.

So my question is, is it possible to use the LM5175 with an external driver, so I can input a voltage as high as 80V? If yes, what should be my concern? If not, what is the limitation?

Thanks,

Luis
