TPS53355 - PGOOD Pull up

Guru 20090 points

Hello,

In the datasheet,  PGOOD connection is recommended to pull  up to VREG (or a voltage divided from VREG) so that the power-good logic is still valid even without VDD supply.

If we pull up to VIN(3.3V), are there any problem?
If there is problem, please let me know.

Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka

  • If PGOOD works like most parts in that series, when EN is low (disabled) then PGOOD is not actively controlled. So if you have PGOOD pulled up to an external voltage you will get PGOOD = high = "good" even though the regulated output voltage is 0 V, "no good". VREG5 is also dissabled when EN is low, so PGOOD will not be pulled up to high when EN is low.
