Battery protection

Hai,

      How we can detect the earth fault of battery bank.?

In an  automotive project , I have a 3KWh battery pack. Here I used  manual switches, appropriate fuses and all other monitoring circuitry. But battery leakage to earth or human body is not considered yet. Please give me the proper advice and data s.

        I want to know any such very sensitive protective solution from TI for battery earth leakage or leakage through our body.

  • This would not be a typical battery protection function since the monitor and protector components here are designed to help protect the battery from abuse or abnormal conditions. I'm not sure if you are looking for a sensing of a situation like a bird on a power line where there is no earth path or some exposure of the battery potential where the battery has a connection to earth. I would suggest looking at the sensing product line at www.ti.com/sense Once you have determined how to sense the condition of interest you would need to determine if it is most effective to switch the exposure contact point or send some feedback to the battery system for disable if that feature is available on the BMS system.

          All basic monitoring and protection is done using BMS . Protective measurements like fuses and mcb s are used.

    But I wish to implement  even more protection from leakage through our body or chassis, because here I am using  ~120Ah battery.

    Please give me a sensing methodology also.
