hello everybody,
i want to use a bq76940 with an bq78350-R1 for a powerfull 12s lifepo.
at the moment i am thinking about the protection fets and i realized that i have to use the same number of parallel dsg-fets as for parallel chg-fets beacause it should be a serial connection between dsg-fets and chg-fets. because of my high current application ( about 180A) this is ot an ideal way for me because i nee a lot of mosfets and my pcb is getting bigger.
is it possible to use one dsg-fet in serial with one chg-fet (like the examples in the datasheet) and some exta dsg-fets parallel to this serial-connection? with that most of the dsg-current would pass the parrell dsg-fets and not the serial connection with one dsg- and one chg-fet. for charging i have to use all fets as well. with that i just nee one chg-fet and could reduce the pcb size and my costs. the only one drawback i can see is that i could not prevent an overcharging when there is a chargerfail. the load detection feature should work with that. please tell me if i am wrong.
thanks a lot
