bq40z50-R1: bqStudio vs TRM Data Flash addresses

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

I found this issue when I was trying to verify that -R1 had fixed the Manufacture Date bug: e2e.ti.com/.../1465714

The TRM for both the -R0 and -R1 list a Data Flash address of 0x4067 for the Manufacture Date. But when I run bqStudio connected to the -R1, it lists 0x406C as the address.

1. Which is correct?

2. Are there other bugs like this?

I'm guessing that the TRM is wrong, but want to make sure.

Tom

  • The bqStudio addresses will be correct. It looks like most of the addresses for the SBS Configuration section need to be updated in the TRM and we will have it fix. Thanks for the notice.
  • Thanks Tom. Just verified the change in addresses by changing the Manufacture Date and reading raw Data Flash.

You might want to add a note somewhere that when a part is updated to a new rev (like I just did for a 40z50), it is a good idea to restart bqStudio so the correct Data Flash locations are re-read in case addresses change! Or have bqStudio do automatically (with a pop-up stating why).
