TPS6123x / zero duty cycle mode

Hi,

I'm interested in zero duty cycle mode in TPS6123x but there is no waveform in datasheet. So can you provide example waveform? I'd like to see the transition from boost mode to zero duty cycle mode, and vice versa. The waveform like attached from TPS63025 datasheet will be helpful.

VIN=2.7~3.8V, VOUT=3.5V, IOUT=400mA

what is application requirement? TPS6128xA may be better device.

Hi Jasper Li,

Thank you for sending waveform. This will be helpful for my customer. TPS6128xA seems good device but my customer need 5V output from 2.5V ~ 5.2V input, and Iout(max) = 1A at 2.5V input.
Do you have other recommended device?

Currently we only have TPS61230. we are also developing TPS61230A, better efficiency and smaller solution size. but the RTM schedule could be a problem.

Hi Jasper Li,

Let me ask one more question about zero duty cycle mode. In this mode, the upper input voltage is limited to Vout+0.24V, then whan will be happened when the input will be increased over Vout+0.24V. And what value is 0.24V?

The input voltage is not limited at VOUT+0.24V. the sentence in the datasheet is to describe the zero cycle mode entering condition.
after the device enter zero cycle mode, the VIN is only limited to 5.5V.

Ahh, I understood that VOUT+0.24V is the threshold to enter zero duty cycle mode.
