Hi,

We are using LM1117IMP-3.3/NOPB - 4Pin SOT-223 package Regulator for 5V input to 3.3V 800mA output for micro controller based application;

Due to load current shortage we need to increase regulator current rating up to 1.5A with same foot print and package for suitable exist PCB. So pls suggest suitable part number for the same.

I don't see anything that meets your requirement, but I will move this to the linear regulators forum. They may have more info.

Hi Panneerrajan,
if your continuous current is 1.5A, I wouldn't recommend using a SOT223 package as from 5V-3.3V at 1.5A, you are looking at almost 2.5W of power.
you could consider looking at the LM1086 from our portfolio which might do the job. this is available in WSON and TO-263 package.
