Creating Golden Image

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510, BQ27510EVM, EV2400

I'm trying to create a golden image file for the BQ27510.  I have TI's GDK hooked to a BQ27510EVM and a battery, and have already used Battery Management Studio to set the Chem ID, and perform a learning cycle.  In the fuel gauge, "Update Status 0" is 02, and FAS and SS bits of the Control Status are low.

However, when I use the Golden Image plugin within Battery Management Studio, I only get errors (see attached screenshot).  What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Adam J.

  • Hi Adam,

If possible, I would recommend to try to program the device using an EV2300/EV2400 to see if you get the same errors. That way we can see if the problem is isolated to your GDK. It is possible that the GDK has been damaged, but verification of EV2300/EV2400 programming might give more evidence to see if it points to the GDK. If the GDK is not damaged, there might be some kind of security settings on your computer that might not allow the process to complete successfully. I would also try using a different machine to see if this is the case.

    Best,
    Justin
  • Justin,

I just tried using an EV2400, and got the same results.

    Thanks,

    Adam J.
  • I was advised to try a test version of Battery Management Studio (v1.3.47), and it worked.
