error in TI Design - Generic Energy Harvesting Adapter Module for TEG

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

hello,

i have another issue regarding the TIDU808 app note and the design TIDA-00246:

www.ti.com/.../tidu808.pdf

according to my current understanding the reverse polarity protection documented cannot work:

i implemented the front end protection from figure 13 using the TLV3691 and CSD13202 in TINA-TI spice. however i cannot get the FET to switch correctly although the comparator is working when i create a spice model using the TI supplied TINA spice components. when i change the compartor polarity i get the FET to switch, but it rectifies into the negative, not the positive voltage. when i replace the FET for a p-channel type, eg. CSD25310, it works. but not using the n-channel fet as suggested in TIDU808.

so i would like to know is the design correct? has anyone ever measured this design to protect successfully against negative input voltages or is this a clear error in the design?

best,

jan
