Hi,

In bq20z70, what will happen if you disable the Impedance Track feature? Can it be disabled for a while and then re-enabled without any effect? Will the Impedance Track require some sort of re-learning after it is turned on again, or is it ready to use right away?

I want to do a few test cycles in the middle of longer test run without affecting the Impedance Track state. This would be simpler if I would not have to physically remove the evaluation board from the setup.

Yes, this could be done in evaluation stage, the following needs to be noted.

When IT is disabled, gauging action is stopped, lifetime data are not taken. To reenable IT, the battery is required to be in full relaxation mode for at least 30 min, preferably 2 hours. This is because when IT is enabled, it is assumed that the battery is at relaxation and the voltage measured is trusted to be the Open-circuit voltage (OCV). The OCV is then translated to the state of charge (SOC), and the RemCap, FCC and RSOC are then calculated.

You can write Update Status to 00 and reset the device.

I wrote 00 to Update Status and 0041 device reset in Manufacturer Access and now I only get scanning updates on Battery Status and Battery Mode ...and Communication OK only displays 20% of the time. This happened on the first two 20z80 battery packs I tried. What happened here and how I can I fix this?
