TPS61193 in SEPIC mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61193

Is there a design example for the TPS61193 in SEPIC mode?  I want to power the backlight from +24v.  My backlight is rated at 12v/50ma.  I am not an analog engineer, so a worked design example close to this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Please see page 23 of TPS61193 datasheet. There is an application example for SEPIC. LED current is set with RISET resistor, equation for selecting RISET is on page 14. Vout max is recommended to be 30% higher than string voltage (12V). Vout max is set with resistor R1 and value for it can be calculated from equation (1).
