TPS61046 Vout spec. for power save mode

The Vout of PFM mode will be 1.01xVout-pwm, but there is no min. & max. voltage output spec for Power save mode defined in the datasheet. Anyone can specify the Vout range for power save mode??

Randy

  • we don't have this data. any reason that customer required this data?
  • Customer answer:

12V output from TPS61046YFFR is for OLED driving, but no OLED is attached during the production test, that means TPS61046YFFR works at PFM mode. We have to get the Vout spec at PFM mode to define a reasonable criteria for production test. That’s why I need this spec. Could you please let me know why you didn’t list the Vout spec at PFM mode? Is it not the key function in TPS61046YFFR? I don’t feel good since it’s the 1 of working modes in TPS61046YFFR and I must answer you why I need this.

sorry for not express clearly. I must make sure I provide the right answer, so I asked why customer need this data.

    1. the 1% reference voltage increment  is only guarantee by designer. So I can't provide the variation of this value (min/max value). because we don't test every IC.

    2. in PFM, the average output voltage is also related to the external component, such as the output capacitor. refer to the PFM operating priciple in datasheet page 10.  the output average voltage would slight change if the output capacitor value is different.

    3. i attach the load regulation of the device in our EVM. the FB is connected to VIN to set 12V output in this measurement, VIN=3~4.8V. hope this could help to define a criteria for customer's product.
