TPS62140 input transient

Yes, the Vin can change.

To debug this issue, please provide the schematic, BOM, and layout.

Did the device break during or shortly after the Vin step? If so, please show a waveform of Vin, Vout, and SW during the step.

Is C1 installed/populated?

When does a failure occur? Does it occur immediately after the line transient?

Can you send their PCB layout around the TPS62140 via the conversation?

I'm sorry Customer can't get waveform at the moment a failure occurred.

A failure occurs during normally operation(the line transient has occurred several times during normally operation).

I'll contact you as soon as I get layout data from customer.

Hello Chris,

I sent layout data to you via private message.

Also I got additional information as follows.

• C1 is installed 100uF/16V in P.4 and 5.
• C1 isn't installed in P.6 and 7.
• Low side FET for TPS62140 is short(0 ohm),  High side FET is measured several Mohm.

Is there just 1 unit which has failed? Is it possible to rerun the test sequence which caused the failure? Capturing Vin, Vout, SW, and inductor current at the point of failure will be helpful.
