bq27421-G1 current limit on integrated sense resistor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27421-G1, BQ27426

Hi team,

If the current flowing through the integrated sense resistor on the bq27421-G1 is around 3A, is it possible to place a parallel resistor in the circuit so that there is not so much current flowing through the sense resistor?

My guess is that this would severely affect the gauge reading, but I thought I would ask.

Here is how it would look:

Thanks!
