TPS2053 Max Continuous load current

I am using TPS2053 in my design for 3X USB2.0 ports which are having the max current limit of 0.5A each. In one of my ports, I have to use a USB hub which will take 0.75A. Since TPS2053 is having a current limit of 1A, whether I can use the hub with that current requirement?

Thanks in advance

  • The low end of TPS2053 Ios is 0.7A including temperature variation. So in some cases, the switch could start to current limit. Also, even if it operated normally at 0.75A the lifetime (operating conditions are in the recommended operating conditions table) could be impacted.
