From what I understand from the TRM the bq40z60 will enter permanent fail mode if any conditions are tripped. Is is possible to reset this flag so the chip still works, upon replacement of the connected batteries? The intended application would allow separate replacement of the battery pack, without replacing the bq40z60 and associated circuit board - is this possible?
