LM2594-ADJ Input-Output Differential

We have a LM2594-ADJ set to regulate at 12V.  The input can range from 15 - 28V but at times can dip down to 10V for extended periods of time.  With the switcher output simply follow the input minus some voltage differential?  Will it still be stable?  Thanks.

  • When the input voltage dips below the required output voltage, the device wouldn't be in regulation. If the ON/OFF feature is not used, then the output will just follow input minus a small drop. There shouldn't be any issue in stability.
