BQ24232 Problem with charging

Dear TI-community,

We implemented the BQ24232 in a design but have a problem with charge output voltage. When 5V,500mA are applied to the Input Pin, we measure a voltage of 0.7 V (instead of 4.2 V) at the BAT Pins. Output voltage is correct.

We want to charge with 200mA and used the circuit described in the datasheet. Please find attached our schematic.

Do you have any hint where these 0.7V come from? Or is there a mistake in our schematic?

Karina,

I'd like you to try a couple of things for me.

First, use an oscilloscope on the BAT pin to capture the waveform.

Next, disconnect the battery and capture the waveform.

Finally, use a battery emulator (I use a source meter, set to about 3.5V) and capture the waveform.

Additionally, do you know if the battery has any internal protection or any other circuitry that may be interfering with the system?

The schematic seems to be in order.

Hey,
well the answer is very trivial- the NTC was poorly attached. After resoldering it worked fine.
