Difference between TPS7A1601 and TPS7A1601-Q1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A16

Hi,

Please let me know about the difference between TPS7A1601 and TPS7A1601-Q1. I checked each datasheet but the electrical spec is almost the same and the difference are ESD ratings and output range. Can you explain the additional difference point if they have?

Best Regards,

Sonoki / Japan Disty

  • Hi Sonoki,

The difference between the two devices is the rating. TPS7A1601-Q1 is rated for automotive applications whereas TPS7A16 is rated as a general use device. The devices share the same parameters; however, to be automotive qualified there is an extra level of testing. You will need to look at the application and decide what rating is required.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,

I know that TPS7A1601-Q1 is automotive grade. I'd like to know the detail of rating because I can't find the big difference between Q and non-Q device from datasheet.

    Best Regards,
    Sonoki
  • Hi Sonoki,

We qualify our automotive devices to the AEC-Q100 standards. TPS7A1601-Q1 is the version of TPS7A16 that was qualified under these standards.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
