about ghosting abatement system and worm effect

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC59283

Dear Collegues,

as you now, in the LED driver application note of the TLC59283:

You can read that the best way to eliminate ghosting effect it is to use a Resistor + Zener diode (reserved voltage).

As a LED screen designer I was doing some test at the laboratory and I found out that using the Zener diode (forward voltage) in direct the ghosting elimination system works and also if a LED is in open circuit it will no show the worm effect (all the LED with the cathode connected to the same driver output lights up if there is a LED in open circuit).

These are the two options:

1.-LED driver application note:

The test I did on the laboratory:

Do you think the LED life will be get shorter? What side effects may have this structure? Will this increase the LED reverse voltage of the LED?

Thanks so much
