Hi there, im testing the BQ24030 and i found a strange problem. The charging features and the outputs seems to be fine. But the weird thing is that STAT leds dont work as expected. Only STAT1 led is on (fast charge), doesnt matter if the battery is fully charged or at counterpart discharged, no other status form is displayed. Do you have some idea about that? Thanks for advance.

Can you share the schematic? Please also capture the scope waveform on STAT1, STAT2, where STAT pins are tied to, IBAT.

STAT1 is always ON, and STAT2 is never displayed, i tested with a Lion battery with 3,7v and waited until charged (4,2v). The current on battery was 500mA (USB) and dropped to 0 progressively.

Can you show scope capture on V_STAT1, V_STAT2, V_POWER_SELECT, and I_BAT? Meanwhile I will test on our EVM as well.

I fixed the problem putting a 39k resistor on TMR, but now the bq24030 with only the Input source keeps the leds blinking. Another thing is that if i plug in a fully charged battery it shows correctly the charge done status, but if i reset the input source with the battery pluged the stat mode changes from charge done to charging. Some idea?

Please see figure 6 which show the power up flow. After initial check on VI(OUT) and VI(BAT) value, the charger resets all timers and then set indication to Charge-In-Progress. Then the charger check if the charging termination is detected or not. This flow occurs when input power is first applied or power cycled.
