bq20z75 temperature monitoring

Hello,

We have a question from our end customer.....is the temperature monitoring of the bq20z75 fuel gauge active when the battery is at rest and no charge or discharge is taking place? If the temperature monitoring is active, is it based on the charge or discharge temperature setting?

Hi Kevin,

Temperature is monitored in all of those states. For example, with features like over temperature detection, it can be activated during charge or discharge.

Hi Justin,

So if I understand correctly, if the pack is at rest and the Over Temp charge setting is at 50C, then if for some reason the temperature of the pack gets up to 50C while at rest, then the over temperature safety feature would activate?

Hi Kevin,

For this feature of over temperature protection, bq20z75 monitors the pack temperature during charging and discharging only.
