Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS2420 dispersion?
The following word have been described in the data sheet

Whether the current limit values and the default value has the relevance?
Does this device have a different variation characteristic?
For example,
Does Current limit=4.5A Fault current=4.4A type device exist?
Customers are concerned that the value of Falt and Current Limit is approximate value.

I'll check the designer of this device and let you know.

If both current limits track, there should not be existence of such device. If they are not, there is a possibility.

Hi Yusuke-san,

Both the current limits track each other. I would recommend selecting ILIM sufficiently higher than IFAULT.

If the current exceeds again Ifult during discharge,
Device stops discharge, and does device recharge it again?

Hi Yusuke-san,

Internal FET turns off when CT voltage reach to 1.4V. It turns on again only when CT discharges to 0.16V. (See the FAULT TIMER (CT) : Threshold voltage ) in the EC table.

Since FET is off, there is no point in current increasing during discharge time.

Thank you for your kind support.

You mean,
1.over the Ifolt limit →　timer charge start
2.under the Ifolt limit → timer discharge start (Less than 1.4V condition)
3.over the lfolt limit again →　timer discharge to 0.16V
4.over the lfolt limit again (CT=Less than 0.16V condition) →timer recharge
