TPS7A4701 and TPS7A7100 Vout failure mode

Hello,

We are using a TPS7A4701 and TSP7A7100 devices to generate various device under test supplies. They are operating in fixed mode and Vout is being set by the ANY-OUT IO in both cases.

Does anyone know if the output is fail safe? i.e: in the circuits below (from their respective datasheets) if the transistors circled in red failed or broke down for any reason could Vout be shorted to Vin?

Hi Simon,

The failure mode of any device depends on many factors at the time of failure and can be hard to predict. That being said, it is possible that an event such as an over-voltage could leave the pass element in a state where it is conducting.
