LM5116 - the waveform in case of diode emulation mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5116

Hi all,

Would you mind if we ask LM5116?
Please refer to an attachment file.

Could you give us some advice?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi
If the SW node voltage does not fall down below DEMB voltage during 'HO-off to LO-on' dead-time, the LM5116 turn on LO driver, but the LO driver will turn off immediately. If you don't like to see this behavior, please use smaller gate charge / smaller Coss MOSFET.

Thank you for your prompt reply always.
    About <Question1>, we got it.
We make our customer confirm your saying.

So, about <Question2>, we guess that it causes of resonance phenomenon by L(bonding wiring) and C(between drain and source of FET)
    Is our recognition correct?

    We appreciate for your help.

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi

It is always better to have stable DEMB voltage, but I don't think such a small ripple will cause serious problem.

I am not sure which parasitic are resonating now. It might be caused by ground bouncing.
