Hi Team,

Can you please confirm that the LP8556 channel count can be can be increased to 6 via the LED_EN register regardless of which flavor is used?

    Hi Nabeel,

    Yes, you can reprogram LED_EN bits to change LED string counts enabled. In order to get correct phase shift between LED channels, PS_MODE bits need to be updated accordingly.

    But, changing register values for EPROM on user site is just for test purposes because each version of LP8556 is tested for its own settings on production line, which means that using one version for mass production after changing the register values is not guaranteed for the quality of the devices. I recommend you to use correct versions for your application conditions.

    If the sales volume is big enough, we may be able to make a special version for the customer, and this decision is made by our marketing team.
