I have made the power supply design of 12 V for the below requirement using IC LM2674. Please let know the inductor selection and capacitor selection are effective design. I can see the difference in wbench calculation vs data sheet selection.

Vin - 24 V

Vout - 12 V

I out - 300mA

Based on calculation Inductor value : 256 microH (30% ripple current) ( Standard value 330microH) Output capacitor : 10 microF.

Webench selects a tant capacitor and the data sheet uses an AL. That is probably the reason for the difference in output cap values.

However, the values of 330uH and 10uF should be OK. A larger output cap will help to reduce the load transients and ripple.

Yes, I have selected the tantulam capacitor with low ESR for my power supply design. Is this 10uF/25V tantulam capacitor is ok for 12V/300mA or I have to select a larger capacitance of 50-100uF.

I would consider the 10uF as a minimum. I would plan for a larger value such as 47uF to 68uF
