Hello folks,

I'm designing a li-ion battery system for film equipment (cameras, LEDs etc.). I have 36V 14Ah li-ion batteries of Panasonic 18650 cells.

I need to develop a BMS with fuel gauge, Power Pump technology and charging controller. Which ICs should I use?

As charger I'd use a Meanwell LED C.C.powersource with 10-100"% regulated (by 1-10V, PWM or res.) current, but it can be something else.

The two gauging options that we have to offer are the bq78350-R1 and bq76930 or the bq34z100-G1 and bq77910a. Both of these chipset solutions offer gauging, protection and passive cell balancing. We do not have a solution that offers PowerPump cell balancing.

You can submit an inquiry to the charger forum for help with the best charging solution.

Thanks for answer, Thomas.
I did more research and it seems that PowerPump technology is present only in NRND products. Does it mean there is something better now, or I should stick with bq78pl114?

The PL114 and PL116 are the only devices that offer PowerPump cell balancing, but we do not recommend them for new designs. We can only offer limited support for applications issues.
