Hello everyone.

I am developing 6.78 MHz using LM5113SD/NOPB from TI as the driver. I have the problem when soldering this device. With the reflow soldering data as I attached, the device is broken. I do not know what is the reason for this thing. And i want to know that with the Reflow data, the device is okay or not? In my opinion, the device is broken because of overheat.

One more thing, is there any problem with the IC when operating at the frequency of 6.78 MHz? As far I know, the LM5113 typically operates at maximum 5 MHz.

Hello Binh,

regarding the temperature reflow curve, you can find the maximum curve for temperature in this specific application note:

Although you don't seem to exceed the maximum temperature, you profile has longer dwell times at higher temperature that might have contributed to the damage.

Regarding your application frequency the part reliability is only ensured up to 5MHz as shown in the datasheet. You will be able to push the part at higher frequency but you will be outside the bounds of the specifications.
