Input & Output Capacitor connection in LM2576 using as a negative boost converter.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2576

Dear Sirs,

Greeting for the day!!!

I am going to design Negative boost regulator using LM2576 IC, I assembled my circuit as per Datasheet of LM2576, Page no. 21 & Fig.29. My doubt for placing Electrolytic capacitor "Cin" & "Cout" in circuits, I am going to used electrolytic capacitor 100u & 2200u for "Cin" & "Cout" respectively. in Fig 29 electrolytic capacitors   "Cin" & "Cout"  positive leg connected to GND whereas negative leg connected to the(-)Vin i.e. -5 to -12V. As per my knowledge Electrolytic capacitor have the polarity hence positive leg connected to the positive and negative leg to negative.  Kindly explain me what is the principal of working for electrolytic capacitor in Fig 29. Could i feed voltage to Fig29 without damage my electrolytic capacitors "Cin" & "Cout" ?.

Thanks & Regards
