Hello,
I am having a problem with an LM5008 circuit. This LM5008 is protected with a LTC4366HTS8-1. My input voltage can be from 0 to 70V input.
From the supplied schematic, the regulator is going to run my MCU, which is off. There is no voltage on the 6.5V line. All caps are fully discharged at startup.
Right now, I am applying 24 volts and the supply is not starting. The issue is that the LTC4366HTS8 has a capacitor it has to charge and it holds the SOLAR_REG voltage to 8V for 15mSec. During this time the LM5008 tries to start but fails; not sure why it stops trying. Once the voltage reaches 24V, the LM5008 is stuck at the voltage levels shown on the schematic. So my questions are, is this normal for the part to latch up like this, and is there any way to fix it?
Ch1 is the 12V_RAIL
Ch2 is the SOLAR_REG
I reduced the resistors by a factor of 10. That causes the voltage to drain off slowly. This allows the converter to start. It is now working. Thanks.
