bq20z75 Design Energy calculation

Hi,

When calculating the Design Energy using the bq20z75, do you divide by 10?
For example:

Design Capacity X # of series cells X nominal cell voltage

2800 X 4 X 3.7 = 41440......do you then divide by 10 and enter in 4144 for the Design Energy value or does it remain at 41440?

Hi Kevin,
Yes, you would divide it by 10 since the units for the Design energy are in cWh (10mWh). So (Design Capacity X # of cells X Nominal voltage)/10.
In your calculation you would enter 4144 cWh for Design Energy.

Sorry....1 more question......for the Remaining Energy Alarm....is it in cWh also?.......meaning the Rem Energy Alarm would be 414.....or would it stay at 4144?

Hi Kevin,
The Remaining Capacity Alarm is also in cWh, so if you want to set it to 10% of Design Energy you would set it to 414. Also, make sure you set the "CAPACITY_MODE = 1".
