In the BQ24073 datasheet the maximum output current Io (continuous) is specified at 5A in BATT discharge mode.
When you work backwards with an RDSon of 100mR it doesn't take long to work out why. However is there a maximum for a peak transient current ?
I have a LED driver that will draw up to 6.5A peak for approximately 200ns which then falls to 3A peak within a millisecond (5 cycles). Will this high peak current damage the wirebonds within the BQ24073 ?
Thanks for looking...
