CC offset and CC Auto offset in bq40z50

Hi Team,

Could you kindly give a clear description for CC offset and CC Auto offset? I have a little confused in TRM.

CC offset : Used for Current() and AverageCurrent();

CC Auto offset: Used for cell current measurement

Since there is a formula to calculate "Board offset", why the CC Auto offset is not included in this?

Board offset =    ((ADCcc) × Coulomb Counter Offset Samples) – CC Offset
  • The CC Offset is the offset calibrated by user when current() is equal to 0.

    The CC auto offset is automatically done by the gauge. In this process, the gauge internally shorts the SRN and SRP and removes any internal offset (Only performed when there is no current flowing).

    When CC Auto Config = 3:    CC offset in current() formula will use DF: CC offset

    When CC Auto Config = 7:    CC offset in current() formula will use DF: CC Auto offset
