Hi,
First my subject concerns battery charger, protection and gas gauge.
I'm redesigning an LED bike light (2x Cree XM-L LEDs) and I have both 7.4V 2000mAh and 3.7V 2200mAh LiPo batteries.
Actually I don't know which one to use cause they have both pros and cons.
Ideally, the battery would be integrated inside the light, so it may not be removable.
- I don't know if my batteries have an integrated protection circuitry so I'd like to protect it from total discharge.
- I'd like a basic integrated gas gauge (single LED) to inform me when the battery needs to be charged.
- I'd like an integrated charger. In the case of 3.7V I guess 5V from a USB supply would be good, in case of 7.4V I won't be able to charge from USB, but a 12V ac/dc wall adapter is ok.
I couldn't find and don't know if a single chip could do the job or if I need a chip for both discharge protection, charge management and gas gauge.
Thank you!
Regards,
Loic
