Hi everyone,

I'm using a TPS61175 for boost an input of 12V to 24V. I got an output of 11.7V and assumed that the regulator was not working. I checked the enable pin for sufficient voltage (3.3V from microcontroller). After few minutes, the regulator suddenly blow up, near the SW pins (1 and 2). Any comment what is happening? Schematic and PCB are attached below.

What is the output current is in your test? The schematic and PCB layout looks good.

I place a load of 35mA only for test purpose, but the design was made it for loads up to 1A.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. It looks that there's something wrong in your circuit. It is a solding issue or some component was damaged.

Pleasse check:
1. Whether D9 is damaged?
2. Whether TPS61175 is well soldered?
3.Check the value of the resistors on board.
One more question: You say that SW pin1 and pin2 is below up, could you please point out which trace in the PCB?
