For the LM3492 and LM3492HC it is recommended to use a nominal operating voltage from 1.05 V to 2V for the FB input.

What is the risk when this voltage is designed to be 2.2V.

    That range is likely recommended just to ensure you do not falsely trip the OVP due to noise through the feedforward capacitor, especially in a device that tends to the lower end of the OVP threshold. As long as you are not false tripping OVP or coming close, you could verify this with a scope, 2.2V should be fine.
