Can't generate good golden image (bq34z100-g1)

Hi,

I am working with a new design that contains a bq34z100-g1. I connect to it using a EV2300 and Battery Management Studio 1.3.45. I have checked that there is no other i2c communication in the bus. When I try to generate a golden image, I get the error "No acknowledge from device" but it keeps reading it, and it finally generates the 3 files, srec, bq.fs and df.fs. But then if I program the srec file into the bq34z100-g1, it stops working, and cannot connect to it any more. I have to replace the piece.

Could the problem be that the golden image generated is not correct due to communication errors? Each time I generate a golden image, it is different from the previous one.

Hi Mirari,

You might first try updating your version of bqStudio, the latest version is 1.3.52, which you can download at http://www.ti.com/tool/bqstudio

I seem to have encountered the same problem, but I use the bq27520+Ev2300+Bqstudio(1.3.52).Updating bqStudio does not work.

Each time I generate a dffs file, it is different from the previous one.I programmed my dffs file and now I can not communicate with my bq27520.

Have any idea what append?

The bqStudio update didn't work for me either. Finally I bought a EV2400, and now I generate "good" golden images with it. Not with the EV2300. May be it has something to do with the pull up resistors... But now that I found that the EV2400 works better, I only use the EV2300 with the bqProduction interface (it does not support EV2400, at least the version that I have isntalled).
