Hi,

Please let me ask about output capacitor selection for LMZ35003.

You recommend the minimum output capacitor at least 100uF, then can we use 100uF typical value capacitor like below? I'd like to know if we need to consider the DC voltage characteristics and temperature.
Can you accept the ceramic capacitors of 22uF x4 though you can accept 47uF x2?

Yes, 2x 47uF, 16V ceramic capacitors cover the minimum output capacitor requirement.
DC bias voltage and temperature is already taken into account when recommending the minimum required output capacitance.

Hi Arrigo,

Thank you for your quick response.

I checked the datasheet again and found 2 x 47uF or 4 x 22uF was used at specified characteristics. But then I also referred Table 1 and found that there is listed 47uF with 6,3V rating. So does this mean that the electrical characteristics is guaranteed with capacitors which has 6.3V rating like C3225X5R0J476K or GRM32ER60J476M?

Yes, you are correct, the 6.3V capacitors can also be used to meet teh minimum capacitance requirement.

I want to add to my previous post. Since this device is capable of output voltages from 2.5 to 15V, I would only recommed using 6.3V caps for output voltage below 3.3V. I would recommend voltage ratings of ceramic caps to be about 2X the output voltage.
