Hi,

The TPS659037 user guide recommends that each LDO input pin should have a 2.2-µF capacitor connected to the input supply. The capacitor should be placed close to the IC pin. However, in the AM572x GPEVM, all the input pins are combined and a 10uF input capacitor is used. Can you please tell me why a common capacitor is used?

Hello Prachi,

I don't think all LDO inputs are combined to one 10uF input capacitor. On the A3 revision, I see a separate input capacitor for LDO12, LDO34 (10uF), LDO7/USB, LDO9, and LDOLN.

I assume you are talking about the 10uF capacitor for LDO34. This can be reduced to 2.2uF. The other LDO_SUPPLY pins N3/N4/M4 do not draw any current, and do not need a separate input capacitor.
