Is there any timing for applying AVS

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5728, TPS659037

Hi,

I have one question regarding AVS of AM5728.

My customer uses AM5728 with TPS659037.

As you know, the boot voltage of AM5728 rev1.1 and AM5728 rev2.0 device is different.

My customer implemented AVS to their firmware. This firmware works well in the combination of AM5728 rev1.1 andTPS659037 rev1.1.

However this firmware does not work in the combination of AM5728 rev2.0 and TPS659037 rev2.0.

According to the analysis, the cause is SMPS6's AVS. If the AVS of SMPS6 is not applied( it is default) , AM5728 can boot up correclty. But, if  the AVS of SPMS6 is applied, AM5728 can't boot up.

Customer confirmed three PCB for this symptom. Two PCB did not boot up (10/10, it is 100%). Other one was no issue.

Why Rev2.0 combination does not work with AVS? Is there any restriction for using AVS?

Please advise me.

I appreciate your quick reply.

Best regards,

Michi
